Course and career guidance

With motivation and appropriate support the dyslexic individual is not restricted in the career path they choose.

What counts more is the interest and passion they have in a particular field. There are many dyslexic doctors and lawyers – you may have difficulty reading their handwriting, but they are qualified at the highest level, and determination and perseverance are often more important than literacy skills. That does not mean that all dyslexics could do those jobs. But the label should not restrict the route one takes.

Many people would suggest that memory is a major issue for dyslexics, and jobs that have a high level of memory requirement should be avoided. So why are there so many good actors and actresses who are dyslexic?
